Hartal in Kannur and Mahe on account of E Ahamed’s death on Thursday

Vehicular traffic, distribution of milk and newspaper are reportedly exempted from the hartal.

KANNUR: A hartal will be observed in Kannur and Mahe on Thursday to condole the death of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader and former union minister E Ahamed.

Leaders of various political parties including CPM district secretary P Jayarajan, DCC president Satheesan Pacheni, Muslim League district president P Kunhi Mohammed, BJP district president P Sathyaprakash, CPI district secretary P Santhosh Kumar and others appealed the public to extend their cooperation to ensure a complete hartal.

They also requested for a complete shut down in the district. However, vehicular traffic, distribution of milk and newspaper are reportedly exempted from the hartal.
