Monal Gajjar of Sigaram Thodu (2014) fame has reportedly opted out of the Dhanush-starrer Velaiyilla Pattathari 2 (VIP 2) citing date issues. She was supposed to play a role similar to Surbhi’s in the original. We hear, she shot for a couple of days in Chennai and is now busy with a Gujarati film. “No matter how much she tried, she couldn’t space out her schedule. The dates were clashing. She had no other option than walking out,” added the source. As of now, we don’t know who’s replacing Monal. Recent developments suggest that Kajol has finished her portions. Currently, the film is working on the last schedule, and is expected to wrap up soon. Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, VIP-2 has Amala Paul, Samuthirakani, Saranya Ponvannan, and Hrishikesh. Sean Roldan is the music composer.
