Social media confuses dead Malayalam director with very much alive actor-director Suresh Menon

Both them had directed movies with a similar title.

The late Malayalam film director Diphan was confused with actor-director Suresh Menon as both of them had directed movies with a similar title.

Director Diphan, who rose to fame with his 2009 directorial Puthiya Mukham starring popular Malayalam actor Prithviraj, passed away at a private hospital in Kochi due to kidney failure.

As the news spread that the director of Puthiya Mukham has passed away, twitterati got it confused with Suresh Menon who had made the Tamil movie Puthiya Mugam starring himself, Revathi, Vineeth, Nasser and others.

Condolences for the death started pouring over twitter with even some popular media houses and celebrities tweeting that Actor-Director Suresh Menon has passed away.

However after realising the confusion the tweets were taken down.

Film news website Behindwoods has clarified with Suresh Menon himself who said that he was enjoying some nice coffee at the moment.

Suresh Menon was previously married to popular south actress Revathi but the two got a divorce in 2013. Suresh Menon is currently acting in GV Prakash Kumar starrer '4G' and 'Thaana Serntha Kootam'
directed by Vignesh Shivan.
