Close on the heels of Angamali Diaries where over 80 new faces were introduced to Mollywood, set to hit the theatres in May is Himalayathile Kashmalan, a comic ride. The USP of the movie is that it has over 50 talented new faces, both behind and before the camera.
The movie directed by Abhiram Suresh Unnithan has already courted attention, thanks to its quirky and interesting motion poster which went viral. The poster was released recently by Tovino Thomas on his FB page.
Enthused over the amount of attention the motion poster is garnering, director Suresh Unnithan told Express that the popularity it got on social media was unexpected.
“We never expected the response the one-minute motion poster gained. Now, we are tensed over meeting the expectations,” said the director. The movie scripted by Abhiram Suresh Unnithan, Nandu Mohan and Anand Radhakrishnan is an out-and-out entertainer. “It is a comic ride. It follows the story of four people who get entangled in a silly incident, which grows out of proportion after they mess it up. This was inspired by a real life incident,” says the director. The movie has over 10 protagonists. Though there are supporting characters, it doesn’t have a female lead.
Scriptwriter Anand Radhakrishnan says penning a comedy had its share of challenges. “We had to give regular intervals between comic instances for the story to move forwards. Most of the funny situations have been penned after discussions with the crew,” he said. The movie has been produced under the banner of Over the Moon Films.
