Raghu Shivammogga, who rose to fame with his State-award winning Kannada short film Chowkabara, is all set to make his first feature film debut. After being trained at Ninasam, Raghu started working under renowned filmmakers including Prakash Belawadi and Suresh B. After a brief-stint with tele-serials, he is now all set to take a plunge into silverscreen.
Titled as Choori Katte, the debutant has chosen to direct a thriller, a subject that sheds light on the timber mafia. “It’s a fictional story and requires to be shot in a forest, amidst trees. So I chose to shoot it at Choori Katte, a place situated near Jog Falls, which later became the title of my film,” he says.
The makers have roped in Praveen of Simple Aag Innondh Love Story fame as the lead and will be introducing a new girl Prerna to tinsel Town. “Prerna is making her transition from small screen with
Choori Katte,” says the director.
The film will start rolling from March 20 and the director has planned a 45-day schedule across Karnataka.
Choori Katte, made under Morning Stars, is produced by S Nayaz and M Tulasiramadu. The movie will also feature Achyuth Kumar, Sharath Lohitashwa, Balaji Manohar, Manjunath Hegde, and Pramod Shetty among others. Vasuki Vaibhav of Rama Rama Re fame will score music and Advaitha Gurumurthy has been roped in as the cinemato grapher.
