Director Guruprasad, who has patched up with Eradena Sala producer Yogesh Narayan, has decided to be part of the movie’s promotional events. The lead pair, Dhananjay and Sangeetha Bhat, is delighted.
“The news has only brought back a smile on all our faces,” says Sangeetha. “I was in tears when I heard that the spat between the director and the producer had pulled out the film from the theatres, and a re-release would be necessary. But timely intervention by the Karnataka Film Chamber Commerce has settled the issue and the movie will continue to play in theatres. What is exciting is that Gururprasad himself will be promoting the film.”
The film was released last week and from then on Sangeetha has been receiving much appreciation. Her subtle handling of a romance, alongside Dhananjay, has been well-accepted by the audience.
“People who had watched the trailer, and not the film, had responded badly because they thought backless pose was vulgar,” she says. “But I waited, patiently, for them to watch the film... and it paid off. Today my fan following has doubled and I have been receiving only positive feedback from all of them.”
The young actress say, “Though I have done of couple of films in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu, this is the first time my acting has been appreciated.” She says that sometimes you need a little “push” towards success.
Sangeetha says that no filmmaker has approached her for a commercial flick till date. “I don’t know why they haven’t,” she says. “I would be okay if I was given a chance and then rejected... atleast then I would know why they aren’t accepting me and what makes them choose heroines from outside the state.”
She says that she cannot put a finger on what is going wrong. “I don’t know what the problem is. I put in my 100 per cent, but something stalls my career,” she says. “I need a bit of luck, I guess.”
Sangeetha, who is now looking forward to the release of Dayavittu Gamanisi in Kannada and Aarambamey Attakasam in Tamil, also hopes that her much-delayed film Kismat with Vijay Raghavendra sees the light of the day.
