Ragini Dwivedi’s journey with Veera Ranachandi had been gruelling but she stuck with it, and the movie will be out in theatres this week.
Work on the film started in 2014 and there had been delays, which could not have been easy on the actress, but Ragini’s enthusiasm for Veera Ranachandi has not waned. This female-centric movie, directed by Anand P Raju, runs on Ragini’s performance and she is also doing the promotions for it.
“I have never shied away from responsibilities,” she says, “No matter how exhausting it gets... I don’t crib about it. This is my baby too, as much as it is the director’s.
Sadly, my director is unwell and cannot be here to do all of this. It is a sad thing, but somebody has to take this responsibility and I decided to put myself forward. Moreover, this is a heroine-centric movie and I thought I have to take the initiative,” she adds.
The actress admits that she did have a lot of ups and downs during the making of Veera Ranachandi, and she took all of it in her stride. “It is an action entertainer and I was injured several times during the shoot, I was bed ridden for two months,” she says. “Not many know of the pain I went through, but there was talk of how I had put on weight. Gossip mongers even said that my career was over. But they were just a few, the ones who can only see the bad side of things and people. But, their actions provoked me to get back on the horse,” says Ragini.
The actress is excited about her action sequences and is confident that her fans will love it. “They have to watch out for my stunts,” she says.
