THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Social Justice department has approved ten projects worth Rs 19.44 crore for ‘Anuyatra’, which is aimed at making Kerala a disabled-friendly state.
The working group of the Social Justice Department had given its approval to the programmes, Social Justice Minister K K Shylaja said. She said all the projects would begin this financial year.
An amount of Rs 350 lakh has allotted for Rubella vaccination, Rs 491.50 lakh for setting up 25 Mobile Intervention units, Separate Intervention Unit at Attapady (`19 lakh), checking hearing issues in neonatal (`100 lakh), Autism centre at Medical Colleges (` 200 lakh), Swalamban health insurance scheme for persons with disabilities (`350 lakh), system for giving information on disability persons (`33.974 lakh), seminars for strengthening the services (`25 lakh), separate project for ensuring awareness among medical students (`18 lakh).
Anuyatra is to have an effective intervention, provide physical training and rehabilitation to differently-abled persons.
