A family of four killed in a fire incident in Delhi

A family of four people including two kids, died in an early morning fire in a four-storey building in Dilshad Garden area of north-east Delhi on Friday.

According to the police, cause of fire is still not clear but cops are suspecting that fire sparked after a short circuit in a electricity box installed at the ground floor of the building.

NEW DELHI: A family of four people including two kids, died in an early morning fire in a four-storey building in Dilshad Garden area of north-east Delhi on Friday.

According to the police, cause of fire is still not clear but cops are suspecting that fire sparked after a short circuit in a electricity box installed at the ground floor of the building.

The victims were identified as VK Verma (63), Sanjay Verma (45), Harsh (12), Chiku (4).

"We got a call from a resident about the fire. Almost a dozen of fire tenders were pressed and after almost an hour we manage to control the fire," a fire official said.

Cops are claiming that initial investigation has revealed that over loading on a wire must have triggered the incident. "It seems that due to over load on wires must have triggered the incident. We have asked forensic team to collect samples," police said.
